Questions

What people ask us

How do I know you are licensed?

Our license and its lookup link are in the footer of every page and on the licenses page. You can check the board’s own site before you let anyone in.

A pipe just burst. What do I do?

Shut the water at the main, keep away from anything electric that is wet, photograph the damage, then call the emergency line. The emergency page has the steps.

Who answers the emergency line?

A dispatcher at our Canton shop, any hour, every day. The line rings at the shop, and a crew on the night rotation is on call.

Do nights and weekends cost more?

Yes. Between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m., and all day on weekends and holidays, an after-hours rate applies. The dispatcher tells you what it is before a van leaves, and you can say no.

Will I get a price before you start?

Yes. The plumber writes the price down and texts or emails it to you. Work starts when you say yes.

How long does a burst-pipe repair take?

A single split pipe is often one visit. Opening a wall, a slab or a long run of old pipe takes longer, and the plumber says so before starting.

Do you pull permits?

When the city or township requires one for the repair, we pull it and the written price lists it.

Could my house have lead or galvanized pipes?

Homes built before 1986 can have lead solder or lead service lines, and many older houses have galvanized steel inside. If we see either while repairing a break, we tell you and show you the options.

Will my insurance pay for this?

We can’t say. Coverage depends on your policy and on what caused the leak. We can give your adjuster the photos, the cause of loss and an itemized invoice.

Should I call my insurer first?

Call us first to stop the water, then call your insurer. Many policies ask you to report a loss promptly and to limit further damage, and your insurer will tell you what it needs.

Should I keep the broken pipe?

Yes, if you can. We bag the failed part when we cut it out and keep it for you until your adjuster says it can go.

What areas do you cover?

Canton and the towns around it in Stark County, plus a few just over the line. The service area page lists them and where we don’t go.

When is the office open?

The office is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The emergency line is answered 24/7, every day.
