Pipe burst? Water off first, then call us

A dispatcher at our Canton shop answers the emergency line at any hour and sends a crew. We stop the leak, repair the pipe, and write up what your insurance adjuster will ask for.

What the adjuster needs, and who has it

Adjusters usually ask for the same few things. We write three of them when the work is done. You and the restoration company hold the rest.

  1. You and us01

    Photos of the damage

Wide, close, and one of the shutoff. Take them before you mop. We photograph the break and the failed pipe before we cut it out.

  2. From us02

    Cause of loss

A short written note: what failed, where, and when the water was stopped. Plain words, from the plumber who was there.

  3. From us03

    Repair invoice

Itemized with the date, the address, the labor and the parts. It comes to you by email when the work is done.

  4. From us04

    The failed part

We bag the split pipe or cracked fitting and keep it for you until your adjuster says it can go.

  5. Restoration company05

    Drying log

Moisture readings and equipment dates come from the restoration company, not from us.

  6. You06

    Policy and claim numbers

The adjuster will ask for both. Have them ready when you call your insurer.

How a burst-pipe call goes

From the call to the dry wall

Five steps, in the order they happen.

  1. 01

    You call

A dispatcher takes your address, asks where the water is and whether you have found the main, and gives you an arrival window and the after-hours rate if one applies.

  2. 02

    Water off

The crew shuts the water at the main or at the meter, then checks that nothing else is still running.

  3. 03

    Photos, then the repair

Before we cut, we photograph the break, the failed part and the damage we can see. Then we repair or replace the pipe.

  4. 04

    The paperwork

The cause of loss and an itemized invoice go to you by email when the work is done.

  5. 05

    Hand-off to drying

If walls and floors are wet, a restoration company takes over. You pick ours or yours. We stay on for the plumbing questions.

How pricing works

Nights and weekends cost more. You hear the rate first.

Between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m., and all day on weekends and holidays, an after-hours rate applies.

The dispatcher tells you what it is before a van leaves, and you can say no. When the plumber has seen the break, the price is written down and sent to you before the work starts.

  • Written price before work starts

  • After-hours rate quoted on the phone

  • Visit fee credited if you approve the job that day

Runs the shop and takes her turn on the night rotation.

  • Priscilla Ferrer

    Dispatch lead

Runs the board on weekdays and trains every dispatcher who takes the line at night.

  • Samina Ali

    Paperwork coordinator

Turns the plumber’s photos and notes into the cause of loss and invoice, and answers the adjuster’s questions.

What customers say after a bad night

“The pipe let go upstairs a little after one in the morning. Someone answered right away and the crew had the water off before the ceiling came down. The invoice and a note on what failed were in my email the next day.”

Stacy M.Plain Township

“The adjuster wanted photos of the break and the cause. The plumber had taken both before cutting. That saved me a second visit from the insurance company.”

Casimiro B.Louisville

“They told me on the phone the night rate and what to do while I waited. No surprises when the price came.”

Before you call

Short answers

Who answers the emergency line?

A dispatcher at our Canton shop, any hour, every day. The line rings at the shop, and a crew on the night rotation is on call.

Do nights and weekends cost more?

Yes. Between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m., and all day on weekends and holidays, an after-hours rate applies. The dispatcher tells you what it is before a van leaves, and you can say no.

Will I get a price before you start?

Yes. The plumber writes the price down and texts or emails it to you. Work starts when you say yes.

Should I call my insurer first?

Call us first to stop the water, then call your insurer. Many policies ask you to report a loss promptly and to limit further damage, and your insurer will tell you what it needs.

Do you dry out the house?

No. Drying and removing wet materials is a restoration company’s work. We work with two local ones and you can use them or your own.
